Tips for Caregiving

According to an AARP national caregiver study, 44.4 million adults provide care for loved ones or friends.  While caring for others, it is important to keep in mind that you must care for yourself. More than half the caregivers surveyed experience stress and strain in their caregiving responsibilities.
Taking care of yourself includes:

  • Eat healthy by preparing nutritional meals and try not to overindulge in sweets or alcohol
  • Get adequate sleep
  • Exercise regularly
  • Ask for help
  • Maintain your social network
